OVERVIEW
Prepare for the classroom to come to life on this Science in Puerto Rico tour! Visit Old San Juan’s famous forts, study the wildlife at El Yunque National Park (the only tropical rain forest in the U.S.), experience the crystal blue waters up close on a Catamaran Cruise, and learn about Ponce’s cultural and scientific history. In addition, your group will have the opportunity to participate in ministry days where they will spend time with local kids or participate in light construction projects. Combining science, service, and scenery, this experience will be one to remember!
ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
- Arrive and meet your JE Tour Director at the San Juan airport
- Transfer to your hotel
- Visit a local beach and enjoy the island sunset (if time allows – depending on flight schedule)
- Dinner at a local restaurant
- Devotions at hotel
DAY 2: RAIN FOREST / BIOLUMINESCENT KAYAKING TOUR
- Breakfast
- Enjoy one of Puerto Rico’s greatest natural wonders at the El Yunque Rainforest – the only tropical rainforest in the United States
- Hike the nature trails and take in their breathtaking views
- Take time to enjoy the natural playground as you swim in the pools, waterfalls, natural waterslides, and rope swing into the river*
- Early dinner
- Kayak to the Red Mangrove Forest to enjoy the sunset
- Head to the Bioluminescent Lagoon for an evening bioluminescent kayaking tour
- Return to the hotel
- Devotions

DAY 3: CAMUY CAVES / OLD SAN JUAN
- Breakfast
- Morning tour of Camuy Caves – the third-largest underground cave system in the world
- Lunch
- Afternoon Old San Juan city tour (known for its rich history, old forts, cobblestone streets & old-world elegance)
- Visit El Morro, a strategic fortress in the Caribbean
- Shopping
- Dinner
- Devotions
DAY 4: FULL MINISTRY DAY
- Breakfast
- Full day of ministry spending time with JE’s local partners giving back & sharing the love God has shown us
- Lunch
- Return to hotel
- Dinner
- Devotions
DAY 5: ICACOS ISLAND / CATAMARAN CRUISE
- Breakfast
- Transfer to El Rey Marina
- Morning catamaran cruise out to the uninhabited little island of Icacos
- Swimming & snorkeling in the crystal-clear water
- Lunch served on the boat
- Transfer back to Isla Verde
- Dinner
- Devotions
DAY 6: TRAVEL DAY
- Breakfast
- Depart for airport
