OVERVIEW
On this Explore Puerto Rico trip, your group will journey through Old San Juan & its forts, explore El Yunque National Park & its waterfalls, and snorkel on Icacos Island. Create fun-filled activities for the local children and teach them the love of Christ through VBS, dramas, songs, and games (light construction projects also available).
ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
- Arrive and meet your JE Tour Director at the San Juan airport
- Transfer to your hotel
- Visit a local beach and enjoy the island sunset (if time allows – depending on flight schedule)
- Dinner at a local restaurant
- Devotions at hotel
DAY 2: ADVENTURE DAY
- Breakfast
- Enjoy one of Puerto Rico’s greatest natural wonders at the El Yunque Rainforest – the only tropical rainforest in the United States
- Hike the nature trails and take in their breathtaking views
- Take time to enjoy the natural playground as you swim in the pools, waterfalls, natural waterslides, and rope swing into the river*
- Early dinner
- Kayak to the Red Mangrove Forest to enjoy the sunset
- Head to the Bioluminescent Lagoon for an evening bioluminescent kayaking tour
- Return to the hotel
- Devotions
*Snacks will be served throughout the day.
DAY 3: OLD SAN JUAN
- Breakfast
- Spend half a day working alongside one of JE’s ministry partners
- Lunch
- Afternoon Old San Juan city tour (known for its rich history, old forts, cobblestone streets & old-world elegance)
- Visit El Morro, a strategic fortress in the Caribbean
- Shopping
- Dinner
- Devotions
DAY 4: CATAMARAN CRUISE
- Breakfast
- Transfer to El Rey Marina
- Morning catamaran cruise out to the uninhabited little island of Icacos
- Swimming & snorkeling in the crystal-clear water
- Lunch served on the boat
- Transfer back to Isla Verde
- Dinner
- Devotions
DAY 5: TRAVEL DAY
- Breakfast and devotions
- Transfer to Airport
- Fly home after an amazing life-changing experience in Puerto Rico!
