OVERVIEW

Recapture the heart of American history on the Explore Boston tour! On this journey, your group will follow the trail of American history from the Mayflower to the American Revolution. Visit some of the best institutes of higher education, take in a Red Sox game, enjoy the great outdoors at the Boston Commons, and more! Your group will experience a setting rich with history and significance in one of America’s oldest cities.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY / LEXINGTON & CONCORD / USS CONSTITUTION

  • Meet your JE Tour Director at the airport in Boston
  • Transfer by bus to Lexington and Concord
    • During the afternoon, you will see the Lexington Battle Green, the Old North Bridge, the Old Manse, Authors Ridge at Sleepy Hollow cemetery, and Walden Pond.
  • Visit the Bunker Hill monument and the USS Constitution warship
  • Dinner & check into hotel
  • Devotions at hotel

DAY 2: FREEDOM TRAIL / BOSTON TEA PARTY MUSEUM / NORTH END

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Start your morning on a walking tour on the Freedom Trail: Old South Church, Boston Public Library, Boston Public Gardens & Boston Common, the State House, Park Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, Old South Meeting House (internal tour), and the Old State House (site of the Boston Massacre)
  • Lunch on your own & time to shop at Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall
  • Visit the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum
  • Visit Paul Revere’s House and walk by the Old North Church
  • Dinner in the North End with bakery visit
  • Devotions at hotel

DAY 3: HARVARD / NEW ENGLAND AQUARIUM / RED SOX

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Take a guided tour of Harvard University
  • Lunch & shopping on your own at Harvard
  • Self-guided visit to the New England Aquarium
  • Attend a Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Park (pending schedule and availability) or a Fenway Park tour
  • Devotions at hotel

DAY 4: PLYMOUTH ROCK / PLIMOTH PATUXET / TRAVEL DAY

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Check out & load luggage onto bus
  • Transfer to Plymouth, MA and view Plymouth Rock
  • Go onboard the Mayflower II and then take a self-guided visit through Plimoth Patuxet Plantation (available mid-March through mid-November; alternative activity at JFK Library to be substituted if traveling outside of specified dates)
  • Lunch on your own
  • Transfer to airport for your flight home
