On the Missions in Costa Rica – House Build trip, your group will have the incredible opportunity to witness this as you help build a home for a family in need in one of the neighboring marginal communities of San Jose. These memorable days will leave a lasting impact on your heart forever!
ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
- Arrive and meet your JE Tour Director at the airport
- Head up the mountain to Hacienda Alsacia coffee plantation and enjoy your first cup of Costa Rica coffee and a great view (if time allows – depending on flight)
- Check into hotel in San Jose
- Dinner at a local restaurant
- Orientation & devotions
DAY 2: HOUSE BUILD
- Breakfast at hotel
- Transfer to the ministry work site
- Meet your family & work alongside them as you help them build their new home
- Lunch
- Continue the house build in the afternoon
- Transfer to the hotel to clean up
- Dinner at local restaurant
- Debrief time & devotions
DAY 3: HOUSE BUILD
- Breakfast at hotel
- Transfer to the ministry work site
- Morning house build time
- Lunch
- Continue the house build in the afternoon
- Transfer to a local store to shop for the family (optional additional items not included in trip price)
- Dinner at local restaurant
- Debrief time & devotions
DAY 4: HOUSE BUILD / PRESENTATION
- Breakfast at hotel
- Transfer to local house build site
- Put finishing touches on the house
- Take the family grocery shopping (optional additional items not included in trip price)
- Lunch
- House presentation & key ceremony
- Transfer to Sarchí to see the world’s largest oxcart (Guinness World Record 2006) & souvenir shop
- Debrief time & devotions
DAY 5: CATAMARAN CRUISE*
- Breakfast at hotel
- Transfer to Puntarenas
- Board the catamaran & travel to Punta Eternia
- Spend the day swimming, hiking, kayaking, playing volleyball, & relaxing
- Lunch
- Afternoon banana boat ride
- Board the catamaran & transfer back to hotel
- Dinner at the hotel
- Debrief & devotions
*Substitute the catamaran for the canopy zip-line or white water rafting (confirm before registering).
DAY 6: TRAVEL DAY
- Breakfast (if flight time permits)
- Transfer to airport
- Fly home
